About This Project

The @store is an application directory for the decentralized web. It collects listings for applications where you can bring your own identity and personal data store – whatever protocol used – making them easy to find in one place.

How it works

Add a small piece of structured JSON metadata to your app's homepage. When you submit that URL to the @store, we read that metadata and add the app to the index. There's no upload, no package manager, no walled garden. Your app stays on your infrastructure, and @store simply points people to it.

You can also use this website to create a listing record on your own persinal data store, and publish that to the ATProto firehose. That will let any directory listening for records to pick your application up and add it to their index.

What we’re looking for

We want to see your apps! If you have an application that uses AT Protocol or solid authentication, we want it here. That said, if your app promotes hateful content, scammin’, or unpleasant bullshit we do not want it here. We’ll make the final call on removing apps from the directory, but since all this data is public, freely discoverable, and on servers you control, any other directory can make their own decisions on what to list or not – without any extra work from you.

Why tho

The Solid and AT Protocol ecosystems are growing, but discovering what's out there is still hard. Apps are scattered across personal sites, GitHub repos, forum threads and the occasional listicle. We wanted a simple, browsable directory; somewhere you can go to see what's been built and find something new to try.

Who we are

@store is a project from Stucco Software, a non-profit software studio for the future of the web. Stucco is committed to building a post-platform web, where communities own their identity and data, and apps are tools they use to get stuff done.
